Get Ready to Up Your Horsemanship Bar

We could not be prouder of the dedicated horsemen and women who continue to raise their horsemanship bar with us—those who are committed to learning more for the welfare, longevity, and success of their horses. And yes, we are having fun along the way!

Join this amazing community to explore classical principles, modern science, and soulful equestrian insights.

What You Can Expect in 2026

The Books & Bourbon Equestrian Club is designed to further your understanding and deepen your connection with horses through curated reading, detailed PowerPoints, and engaging discussions every month. Perhaps one may even enjoy a drink while on this learning journey!

  • Diverse Curriculum: We explore horsemanship across disciplines and countries—covering topics like equine movement, rider posture, classical dressage, natural horsemanship, behavioral science, and historical wisdom. (View the 2026 Book Selections and schedule)
  • Relaxed Pace: Enjoy six thoughtfully chosen books—one every two months—so you can read at an easy, enjoyable pace. Many of our selected books are chosen by our members, through group suggestions and votes.
  • Engaging Facebook Livestream Club Events: Join six online discussions where we explore each book together. Proprietary learning materials are available each session as downloadable in-depth PowerPoint presentations to follow along or revisit at your own pace.
  • Lively Facebook Conversations & Q&A: Between books, enjoy six bonus sessions featuring guest speakers, authors, and leading equestrian thinkers and industry influencers.
  • Can’t make the dates? No worries: Enjoy on-demand access later—recordings are always available in our private Facebook group for 30 days and later stored on a secure server where you can watch again and again with lifetime access. In addition audio recordings are available to pass the time while driving or cleaning stalls!
  • Cheers! Bring your favorite beverage—we’ll share a few mixology ideas and invite you to do the same!
  • Member Perks: Enjoy a 10% discount from our partners at Xenophon Press on all club titles (and most books site-wide). Wait to order books as we will provide a discount code to all members in the coming days.

With a background as a collegiate instructor and intelligence analyst, Suzanne integrates research-informed methods with hands-on horsemanship. As a Certified Masterson Method Practitioner and one of a handful of Masterson Advanced Instructors nationwide, she brings thoughtful, compassionate insights to every horse and rider she works with.Suzanne owns Briar Creek Farm in Leesburg, Virginia, where she highlights the importance of relaxation, connection, and communication between horse and rider. Her approach builds on the principle that proper release work followed by educated muscle activation enhances equine performance and welfare. Known for her inspirational teaching and collaborative projects, Suzanne encourages equestrians to “think”—echoing her mentor Ray Hunt’s philosophy. Whether addressing problem-solving, building a solid foundation, or advancing to upper-level dressage, Suzanne enjoys helping others cultivate meaningful relationships with their horses as they strive for continual growth and improvement.
